Community Care Hospice, an affiliate of Community Visiting Nurse Association, will hold its annual “Light up a Life” tree lighting on Monday evening, December 3 (rain/snow date December 4), at 5:30 on the front lawn of the agency’s building at 110 West End Avenue in Somerville. The ceremony includes family and friends of individuals who have received care and support from Community Care Hospice. Members of the hospice staff shared readings and prayers as part of remembering loved ones. You may view this special ceremony at this link.
“Light up a Life” is a nationally recognized hospice campaign where a tree is lit in memory of, or in living tribute to family members and friends. Donations help to support the mission of Community Care Hospice to help individuals and their families who are faced with a life-limiting illness. A donation, in any amount, enables a loved one to be remembered with a personalized ribbon which is placed on the tree in their honor. “Our tree is filled with hundreds of ribbons, each representing the loving thoughts and precious memories of those who have touched our lives in so many ways,” expressed Alyce Brophy, CEO and President of Community Visiting Nurse Association.
