Community VNA was proud to honor its own at the Annual Home Care Association sponsored Home Health Aide Recognition Day event. This year's theme, "Together Everyone Achieves More,” is an important reminder of the valuable role that home health aides play to thousands of residents in the State of New Jersey. The day included guest speakers Paul Ray, Assistant Deputy Director, Division of Consumer Affairs, NJ Senator Robert M. Gordon (D), Majority Conference Leader, and Master of Ceremonies William Ditto, MSW,LSW. It also featured Home Health Aide testimonials, Service Awards and a luncheon, concluding with Rookie of the Year Awards and Home Health Aide of the Year Awards.
Community VNA's Ewa Wilson of Bound Brook, NJ, was honored at the Home Health Aide Recognition Day Event as Community Visiting Nurse's Home Health Aide of the Year. Ewa was joined at the special event by her Home Health Aide Manager, Catherine McLaughlin, RN. Ewa became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2004 and a Certified Home Health Aide for Community VNA in 2005. She enjoys being a Home Health Aide and taking care of her clients. In her spare time, Ewa enjoys working in her garden and reading.
The Home Health Aide of the Year honor is awarded to the CHHA who has demonstrated excellence, leadership and compassion throughout their career. Criteria include reports of excellent service the individual has received from client feedback surveys and their fellow co-workers, as well as attendance and team effort.
