On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, Community Visiting Nurse Association (CVNA) celebrated its 70th Annual Meeting at the Raritan Valley Country Club. The theme for this year’s meeting was Bringing the Care Home and the event was attended by more than 130 people. Local health care officials, community providers, members of the staff, Board of Trustees, friends and supporters gathered to celebrate the many successful accomplishments made throughout 2018. The keynote speaker was widely acclaimed national motivational speaker Ron Culberson, who entertained the audience with his wit and humor and unique insights into healthcare.
This year’s Marie Gemeroy Award, the highest honor this organization bestows upon someone who has gone above and beyond in their performance, support of the organization, or commitment to their patients, was presented to Anita Ciano, Hospice Manager of Community Care Hospice. “She puts her whole heart and soul into her work and is always willing to help coworkers, patients, families, the organization, as well as the community. She will always put her work aside to finish later and volunteer to assist whoever needs help,” stated Alyce Brophy, President/CEO of Community VNA. Ms. Ciano, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, has been with the organization since 1985.
