Community
Visiting Nurse Association accepts payment for services from most
health insurers including:
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- HMOs Managed Care
- Private Insurance (See Below)
- Worker's Compensation
- Private Pay (Fee for Service-Sliding Scale)
- Grants and Waiver Programs
Community VNA contracts with
most insurers and bills them directly for provided services. When
we receive a request for services, an insurance verification is performed
by our office staff, determining coverage of needed services and
any uncovered costs that you might incur, such as co-pays or deductibles. We will give this information to you prior to or during the first visit.
A sliding scale fee based on ability to pay is available to provide
necessary care for those without health insurance. This is made
possible by private donations, fundraisers and grants from The Somerset County United Way.
Current Community VNA insurance contracts include the following:
- Aetna
- Americaid / Amerigroup
- Cigna (Hospice only)
- Care Centrix/Gentiva
- Horizon Blue Cross includes HMOs, managed
Medicare, Indemnity and PPO's

- Medicaid
- PHS / Healthnet
- United Healthcare
Community VNA will negotiate individual
cases with other payors not listed.
