Community Visiting Nurse Association Awards Marie Gemeroy Award    

 

Community Visiting Nurse Association held its 60th annual meeting on May 14, 2008 at the Bridgewater Manor. Stuart Thau, Physical Therapist, and Eleanor Hunter, Certified Home Health Aide were honored as the recipients of the agency’s highest honor, the Marie Gemeroy award.  This award recognizes an employee(s) for extraordinary contributions to the agency.  The award is given in memory of Marie Gemeroy, the first director of Somerset Valley Visiting Nurse Association (now known as Community VNA) who was dedicated to the promotion of community health care.

 

Stuart Thau, a physical therapist with the agency for twenty-one years was described by Alyce Brophy, President and CEO as “the ultimate star” for professionalism, commitment, loyalty and dedication to his patients and the organization.

 

“Eleanor Hunt approaches everything in life with an inner strength and gracious smile”, stated Alyce Brophy.  "Her energy, drive and commitment to her patients is unrivaled, and the care she gives is extraordinary".

 

Community Visiting Nurse Association and its affiliates, Community VNS, Community Home Care and Community Care Hospice are non-profit home health and hospice providers serving Somerset and Middlesex Counties since 1948.  They are licensed by the State of New Jersey, certified by Medicare and Medicaid and accreditated by Community Health Accreditation Program.  Community VNA provides home health care, hospice care and community services.
